The aim of the focus action was to determine the microbiological status of already prepared goods that are stored for a long time before they are subjected to a final preparation process before sale/consumption. In addition to spoilage and hygiene indicator germs, pathogenic germs (Salmonella, Listeria) were also examined.
58 samples from all over Austria were examined. Seven samples were rejected:
- Three samples were judged unsuitable for human consumption.
- Four samples were judged to be impaired in value
Salmonella and Listeria were not detected in any sample.
