Interlaboratory comparisons are an important means of quality control in chemical analysis. Laboratories accredited according to ISO 17025 are obliged to participate in such studies on a regular basis. Successful participation in interlaboratory comparison tests is a prerequisite for accreditation or for their continued validity.

An individual laboratory can use these tests to compare its own results from the testing of a particular sample with the results of other laboratories. In this way, the laboratory obtains information about the performance of its own methods. Our Institute for Animal Nutrition and Feedingstuffs organizes annual proficiency tests for feed-relevant parameters.
