Case 3: You have completed the course at another authorized training and further education institution (LFI) and your certificate was not issued by BAES, then please book our Plant Protection Products Certificate of Competence Initial Training.

No, there is no exam in the strict sense. The course consists of different modules. At the end of each module, you have a short knowledge quiz to complete before you can start the next module. The quiz does have a certain minimum percentage of questions that you must answer correctly, but this is primarily for your understanding of the content and is not meant to be a hurdle. You can also retake the quiz as many times as you like.

After successful course registration, your course is activated for you for a period of 6 months . After this period the access expires.

To receive your ID card, please upload a photo of yourself in your profile after completing the course and click on 'Request expertise card'. This will then be sent by mail to the address you have provided.

Our e-learning course is designed for distributors and advisors and is therefore more detailed than the user course of the LFI. In some federal states the certificate of the Chamber of Agriculture (only valid for the application) is still required, unfortunately there are different state regulations.

As a user, you can therefore also have our e-learning course credited in your federal state and apply to the Chamber of Agriculture for a user ID card in accordance with state law, if required.

According to the Plant Protection Products Ordinance 2011, when selling plant protection products, sufficient personnel must be available who are in possession of a certificate from the BAES to be able to provide information on the risks to human health and the environment as well as safety advice for risk management on the products concerned.

This states, among other things: § 1. (1) When selling plant protection products, sufficient personnel must be available who are in possession of a certificate (§ 3) to be able to give customers appropriate advice on the use of plant protection products, information on the risks to human health and the environment, and safety advice for risk management on the products concerned. In any case, at least one person employed in the company must have a certificate in accordance with § 3, and this person must be present in the company during the business and operating hours during which plant protection products are sold. The same applies to any branch operation.

That is, there is no minimum or maximum number, but there must always be one person available. How many people a business wants to have trained is up to the discretion of the business. The higher the demand, the more available persons make sense, especially to cover various absences, sick leave, etc. - and not to forget to be able to guarantee attendance in the event of an inspection by the Federal Office.
