The ALVA proficiency test of the Division of Feed, Animal Nutrition and Plant Analysis is an international proficiency test, which is performed once a year. The proficiency test 2024 comprises three samples: Compound feed, a mineral feed and a cereal, which can be ordered optionally. The samples are tested for elements and, in some cases, ingredients.
The goal of the ALVA proficiency test is to provide laboratories with opportunities to:
- to check the accuracy of their procedures
- verify the technical expertise of their personnel

- test the suitability of methods for different matrices
- meet the requirement of the accreditation bodies to participate in proficiency testing.
The organization and performance of this proficiency testing is based on EN ISO 17043.
