Final report of the priority action A-662-23

The aim of the priority action was to obtain an overview of the composition and contamination of cereal-based foods, biscuits and rusks with contaminants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), mycotoxins and heavy metals as well as pesticide residues. In addition, the national use situation of additives and flavourings in the samples taken and the microbiological status were to be determined.

52 samples from all over Austria were analysed. Ten samples were objected to (in some cases several times):

  • Two samples were assessed as harmful to health (mycotoxin and PAH respectively)
  • One sample due to the composition
  • Seven samples due to incorrect labelling
