The aim of the focus campaign was to check whether the composition of confectionery, cocoa and chocolate products with marzipan and fine baked goods with marzipan or almonds complies with the declared sales description and the ingredient description and fulfils the requirements of the Austrian Food Code. Furthermore, it was to be examined whether only almonds or marzipan and no other high-fat seeds (e.g. walnuts or hazelnuts) or apricot kernels were used in the production of macaroons.
