Climate change is not only reflected in long-term climate changes such as rising average temperatures or higher sea levels, we are already feeling its effects: Hot summers and extreme weather events such as heavy rain and droughts are becoming more frequent. No wonder that Austrians:in 2022 are more concerned about the increasing number of heat days and heat waves than they were in 2017, as our annual risk barometer shows.

Timely and active adaptation to climate change can mitigate or even prevent damage. One of our focal points as AGES is therefore this adaptation to climate change, from soil to plants and animals to humans.
