In this workshop you can expect a mixture of theoretical input (zoonoses in the European context) and practical group work in the veterinary laboratory (dissection material, quarter-jelly samples, etc.).
Contents
- Theoretical overview of the requirements for veterinary microbiology
- Zoonoses in the European context
- Practical sample preparation using current routine examples from dissection and veterinary submission material, microbiological milk testing
- Practical work in the microbiological laboratory
Skills acquisition
Participants receive a streamlined overview of veterinary microbiological diagnostics. In line with the One Health concept, the focus is on zoonotic pathogens, microbiological milk testing and further processing of dissection material. Knowledge of various microbiological analysis methods and understanding in connection with zoonotic pathogens is imparted.

Notes
- The lecture materials will be made available to the participants in electronic form.
- If possible, please bring your own lab coat - lab equipment will be provided.
- The practical part of the workshop will be organised in small groups with individual supervision.
