The cosmetics event is divided into 3 thematic blocks:
The first part of the programme focuses on sustainability and the Green Deal in the cosmetics sector. Part 2 is dedicated to the topics of microbiology and preservation. In the last part, we will inform you aboutlegal changes and innovations in the Cosmetics Regulation and the Codex chapters.
Programme content
- Part 1: Sustainability and the Green Deal
- Which "green claims" will soon no longer be permitted and what does the 2023 microplastics ban have to do with cosmetics?
- Not only the contents, but also the cosmetics packaging should be chosen with the environment in mind.
- The trend is towards refill packs and self-filling - or no packaging at all.
- Part 2: Microbiological tests, risks and preservative-free products
- What is a KBT (preservative load test) and which microbiological reference values apply to cosmetics?
- Are there cosmetics "without preservatives" and what are microbiologically low-risk cosmetics?
- Part 3: Legal aspects, reference values and Codex
- Codex chapter: Liniments and natural cosmetics have been updated.
- What does "technical avoidability" mean and for which banned substances are there published guideline values?
- What changes and bans have been adopted recently, and how should allergenic fragrances be labelled in the future when so many new declarable substances are being added?
You are also welcome to send your topic-related questions in advance to akademie@ages.at. The questions collected will be answered by the speakers during the seminar.
