We estimate the effective reproduction number for cases with known and imputed omicron variant information and for cases with other variant than omicron variant, as described in RICHTER et al. (2020). We subsume those cases not classified as omicron variant under "cases with other variant." However, this group consists mostly of delta-variant cases (B.1.617.2). The serial interval used to estimate reef is based on a gamma distribution with mean 3.37 and standard deviation 1.83 (RICHTER et al. (2021b)). Cases with known travel association are excluded from the analysis. The effective reproduction number of the omicron variant for the period 05/12/2021 to 12/20/2021 varies between 1.4 and 2.0, and for 12/20/2021 it is 1.71 (95% confidence interval: 1.62-1.81).
