The priority actions "EU Pesticide Control Program 2021" and "National Pesticide Control Program" monitored compliance with the maximum levels of pesticide residues in or on food of plant and animal origin. The data serve to estimate the actual exposure of consumers to pesticide residues and are the basis for recommendations regarding future measures for monitoring pesticide residues at the European level.
In total, 1,013 food samples were analyzed for pesticide residues; 61 samples were rejected because the residues were too high.
