The aim of the focus campaign was to examine the speciality oils on the domestic market with regard to labelling, organoleptics, composition, residues and contaminants.

86 samples from all over Austria were analysed. 37 samples were rejected (in some cases several times):

Four samples were unfit for human consumption
The maximum content for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) was clearly exceeded in three samples
One sample exceeded the maximum level for the pesticide residue fluopyram
One sample had an elevated level of erucic acid
One sample was classified as an unauthorised novel foodstuff
A total of 34 samples were objected to (in some cases several times) due to labelling deficiencies and/or misleading information
