In this campaign, a checklist was used to survey the extent to which systems for the traceability of openly offered goods are implemented and how the healthiness of these goods can be ensured.

Most of the businesses (89%) have at least partially established traceability systems for their products. However, the practicality of the systems is not always given: Although the majority of businesses have specifications for the removal from the original packaging and last delivery to the end consumer for meat, fish and dairy products (cheese), the best-before date of the original packaging is often given as the date of the last delivery of the open goods.

Samples were only taken in suspected cases. 19 samples from all over Austria were analysed. One sample was rejected:
