The aim of the priority action was to obtain a representative and reliable database for the assessment of consumer exposure and compliance with the applicable MRLs in selected foodstuffs, which also serves the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) as an additional data basis for exposure assessment. 809 samples from all over Austria were examined; 28 samples were objected to:

• In 24 samples, the maximum levels for at least one pesticide active ingredient were exceeded. Of these, one sample was also assessed as "unsafe, unfit for human consumption."
• Two samples were assessed as "not safe, unsuitable for human consumption" due to their excessive content of perchlorate.
• Two samples were rejected due to the justified suspicion of violation of regulations according to the EU Organic Regulation or misleading with regard to the claim "from organic farming".
