The aim of the focus campaign was to analyse microbiology, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH4), composition and nitrate and nitrite content.

71 samples from all over Austria were analysed. Seven samples were rejected:

The maximum levels for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were exceeded in four samples
Two samples were deemed unfit for human consumption due to microbiological contamination
One sample was suspected of being adulterated
